A film honoring surfing pioneer & icon: Marge Calhoun (1924 – 2017)
Marge Calhoun was born in Hollywood, California in 1924.
She LOVED the ocean, surfing, and BIG Waves. Marge won the Makaha International Surfing Championship in 1958. She was the founding secretary of the United States Surfing Association (USSA) and the first woman to judge contest surfing. Marge was a competitive swimmer, a diver & Olympic hopeful, a stuntwoman and synchronized swimmer. She had two daughters, Robin and Candy. In 2017, Marge passed away in her Morro Bay, California home at the age of 93.
